There are many ways to approach SEO.

Many SEO experts don’t like every idea.

Turning to Google for help isn’t always helpful because Google ranks information about SEO that Googlers themselves are on record saying is wrong.

There are ways to get rid of the chaos and figure out which information is valid and accurate.

Statements from Googlers on SEO Information

Here are four main topics that Googlers discuss about SEO.

Googlers don’t offer loopholes for how to influence rankings, of course. But, they do provide consistent and valuable data.

For example, a Googler can’t necessarily say that Google has an algorithm that’s specifically for hunting down and killing guest posts for SEO links.

They will tell you, however, that guest posting is allowed for SEO purposes and should be done by the publisher. There should be a fork..

By doing that, the Googler is helping publishers avoid a possible penalty or spending money on a service that won’t produce the desired results.

The best information source is Googlers. Googlers provide the most accurate information regarding Google’s work methods.

But, the reason for the contradictions is usually not the Googler’s fault. It’s consistently the fault of the person who is writing about what the Googler said.

Over many years of listening to Google office hours hangouts, I have found that Googlers are consistent with what they say even though they refer back to statements made 10 years ago. They are consistent in their advice.

It is a good practice to pay attention to Googlers statements. Pay attention to Googlers’ statements if you find a publication that contradicts your statement.

Some websites post ranking factors information based on comments made by an ex-Googler.

But, the video clearly shows that Googler X didn’t claim anything similar to what people say.

The Internet is full of false claims about ranking factors, but no one believes them.

Don’t take what someone writes for granted.

Always check for any errors in the podcast, video, or blog post.

  • Searching for LSI keywords (which Mueller above says Doesn’t exist) shows several websites that say that LSI keywords Do exist.
  • Search PBN URLS for the top-ranked site that sells PBN links (links to blog)
  • Searches for “Link Wheels” (building blogs and linking to your own content) yields results that recommend the practice.

Today’s top SEO results tend to be trustworthy.

Is it necessary to listen to Googlers?

Search engine Googlers favor publishers. Both search engine marketers and SEOs are against them. Each person experiences search differently.

There are many topics that can be controversial, and it is normal for people to have different opinions.

However, there are some areas of the internet where it is commonly held that it’s best to not listen to what Googlers say.

Googlers are not always the best advice for everyone.

Others seem angry with Google and are more likely to have negative opinions.

Google: Are We To Believe It?

It’s helpful to focus on the Googlers who liaison with the search marketing community.

Googler Gary Illyes, John Mueller and Googler have a long history of sharing important information with search marketing professionals.

John Mueller answers yes to questions if he isn’t sure. If he is certain, his answer will not be ambiguous.

It’s important to verify if the writer is citing and linking to an authoritative source or is simply offering an opinion.

When someone writes about Google and then links to supporting evidence like a Googler statement, a patent, or research paper, their statement becomes better than an opinion because now it’s a Supporting evidence, fact-based insights.

Although they may be able to fabricate Google information, it is unlikely that they will.

Unless a Googler says something is true, we can’t really know.

For centuries, common sense held that Earth is the center of everything. Common sense cannot be replaced by data and evidence.

Opinions without supporting evidence, regardless of how much “sense” it makes, are unreliable.

All Statements from Googlers Must Be Contextual

Agendas are what people have. In an attempt to advance their agendas, people who have plans tend to refer to Googler statements.

A common agenda for increasing business success is to create fear and uncertainty.

It’s not uncommon for search marketers to say that Googlers contradict themselves.

Amazing to me is the consistency of Googlers John Mueller and others.

However, it isn’t consistent with his interpretations.

Correlation Studies Are Not Reliable

These articles, which are correlation data articles, have a higher popularity than any other type of content. This makes them valuable as clickbait.

But the patterns are meaningless because… correlation does not imply causation.

Numerous correlation studies are focused on just a handful of factors, leaving out over 200 factors that affect search ranking.

Search results can be affected by non-ranking factors, including:

These are just a few factors that can make it hard to tell if the website’s rank in search results is related or not.

SEO misinformation can be prevented by not engaging in correlation-based SEO research.

Can You Trust What’s In A Patent?

The problem with articles written about patents is that some people don’t know how to interpret them – and that can result in SEO misinformation.

Misrepresented patents can create confusion, especially if only one of them is used.

If you read an article about a patent and the author does not discuss the context of the entire patent and is only using one passage from the patent, it’s highly likely that the conclusions drawn from the patent are misinformed.

Be sure to discuss research papers and patents within the overall context of the patent.

It’s a common mistake to pull one section of the patent and derive conclusions from that section taken out of context.

SEO Misinformation

Sometimes, it is difficult to discern between real SEO information or lies.

Information that isn’t double-checked and then spreads around the internet can lead to misinformation.

Misinformation can sometimes be caused by individuals relying on their intuitions, which may prove unreliable.

Ultimately, we can’t know for certain what’s in Google’s algorithm.

The best we can do is understand that SEO information has tiers of validity, beginning at the top with publications from Google that offer confirmation about what’s in Google’s algorithm, then statements from Googlers. You can trust this information.

After that, we get into a sort of gray zone with patents and research papers that are unconfirmed by Google whether or not they’re being used.

The least reliable information is that which relies on only opinions or correlations.

If I’m feeling insecure, the first thing I do is seek validation from trusted people.
